Driver Medicals to Put You in the Driving Seat

Thursday, 29 April, 2021

As we steer our way out of the pandemic, our doctor-driven DVLA medicals will keep you firmly on the road to recovery.

We all need a licence to drive but when you’re manoeuvring tens of tonnes of metal or carrying several passengers, HGV and bus drivers need to travel that extra mile.

At COHS, we make that route a little easier for you by keeping you firmly in the driving seat.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the transport sector, our wheels are in motion to advise and support you in providing HGV and PCV driver medicals.

Our breadth of experience and expertise allows us to provide for the specific needs and challenges of the transport sector.

From DVLA class 2 medicals, including forklift truck and other commercial drivers, such as HGV and buses, whatever your company’s need, we can ensure your drivers are fit to drive for work.

Our General Medical Council (GMC) registered doctor has flexible appointments  at half the cost of a GP surgery.

For £65, included in the cost of the medical is a vision test so you don’t have to pay any additional optician fee

Examinations are carried out by our GP, Dr Nicola Dann, who specialises in completing D4 driver medicals. She holds personalised driver clinics to ensure your assessment is completed in line with DVLA regulations.

Dr Dann, founder and director at COHS, said: “We specialise in providing appropriate advice and guidance so as to avoid any pitfalls with the DVLA or unnecessary delays.

“Your medical examination will include an eye and hearing test, blood pressure check to ensure your BP meets DVLA guidelines and a medical history questionnaire

“You will need to bring with you a D4 medical form, your prescription lenses, details of any medical conditions and any medications being taken, as well as photo ID.”

Our clinician offers on-site medicals, as well as Covid-secure clinic appointments in Leeds, Huddersfield and Honley.

The law requires you to be medically fit to drive a class 2 vehicle. The medical form lasts until you are 45 years of age, at which point it is required every five years, until 65 years of age, when it becomes annual.
